Chainsaw Engine Repair Questions... Did I ruin the cylinder?

I would use a spring loaded brake cylinder hone with stones, not one of those balls of abrasive on a wire type.

You might inquire at a local good chainsaw shop. Back in the day, 2 stroke motor bikes were often bored over and fitted with larger pistons and rings.

I knew a guy that ruined his built chevy V 8 trying to set TDC with a screw driver.

If you need to ever to hold a crank - clean rope fed in the spark plug hole with the piston at the bottom - leave a tail to pull it back out. On the up stroke the rope will compress and the crank will stop moving.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
