The annoying posters

I try not to be too grumpy posting, (and I usually fail)because in my 40's I realise I made my fair share of dumb comments since hobby forums on the internet started near 20 years ago. A couple of differences between the early days of the internet and today, is that in the early days the forums were only hardcore enthusiasts seeking other likeminded folk for the first time, like frontiersmen. It wasn't until 'the average town settler' turned up in the thousands you needed social controls, aka registration, moderators etc.

Some of the more annoying town folk who seem to pop up on threads these days.

1. The 'why are you asking that question' guy. Why are you asking why am I asking this question?

2. The one liner guy. Related to the above guy, can't spend a minute to put down a useful comment so makes a throwaway line(probably texting it one handed whilst driving). If you have that little interest into the discussion why not just sex text your girlfriend instead.

3. The googler guy. Usually the kids without the experience to handle what is being talked about try and find a link on the net to derail a sentence you stated...while still missing the gist of the subject.

4. The grammar correction guy, related to the googler guy but even less able to follow a discussion. Will invariably get his grammar wrong whilst trying to correct the first guy...

5. The 'where's your source' guy. Often an undergraduate. For statement of facts, sure. For a general opinion based on decades of experience, its called being a source, junior.

6. The 10,000 post count, respect my authority guy. In the early days, before anyone had 1000 posts anywhere, if a guy posted the first time who sounded like he knew his sh1t, its probably because he knew his sh1t.

7. The 'you asked for opinions on steak, what you need is a chicken dinner' guy. This guy is taking over internet forums. Its like after a certain amount of time people get bored answering the same questions, so they try and find ways to make you feel like you asked the wrong question. If a guy asks what the best 9mm handgun for self defense is, he is not interested in 12ga pump for duckhunting.

8.The 'I can give it but can't take it' guy. Usually this is the guy in numbers 1,2 ,3 who gets followed up on his crap reply thus resulting in a meltdown.

9. The angry educator guy. Wide variety of people. Could be former military with PTSD or 20 year old without a girlfriend who spends a little too much time analysing the world. On a mission to cure stupidity one post at a time. His scenarios for real life procedures are also the only correct ones. 'Nuclear war? Sorry no point storing water, rampaging warbands will steal it for their horses anyway'

10. The against 'unethical hunting' guy. All around the world are hunters using different calibres, with different scenarios, under different laws, but if it aint done that way in his home state, its unethical. He is especially the sworn enemy of the millions of hunters/farmers/govt workers using 22LR to harvest small/medium game each year.

All in fun.
