Buying a KA-BAR ??

I am going to buy a Ka-Bar. Looking at the options from that company, they seems endless and I had imagined all Ka-Bars to be the same.

Recently I came across a video telling me the older Vietnam style Ka Bars were made of "high carbon steel" and would bend a bit which was good in actual combat. Many are evidently made of stainless steel and that was said to be brittle and causing the knife to break.

So what is the story, knife guys? Are there good and bad Ka-Bars? What should I look for?
