I'll be honest, this is the book that got me hooked on Johnny Ringo. Great military SciFi is hard to find, and Johnny is one of the best. As a SciFi writer he has few peers.

Some of his other works (Ghost for example) are just....creepy. If you are a fan of harems, for example, maybe not so much for you - me, I'll take a pass.

The opening to this book is a classic - as seen by a Vet.

The main character William Weaver, PhD, is both fantastic and more than a bit unbelievable. With doctorates in everything from nuclear physics to electrical engineering William is an egghead's egghead - with skills in everything from mountain biking to playing monster electric guitar. Yeah. Right. Not saying it isn't possible, by why?

It isn't long before Master Chief Miller shows up to make a losing fight into a real war.

It is a book of non-stop action, surprises and good guys that are good to go. Not to mention evil aliens, bug eyed monsters and a gamut of strange humans add to the fun.

Recommended for high school aged and up. Too scary for younger ones. Language is PG+.

Note - he has now started the team writing thing with other talented authors. This is a good thing - it means more books.....
