Solar powered attic fans quit working

These are the type that go through the roof to vent heat. Discovered they had stopped spinning at the end of last summer. They would start spinning with a little "assist" with my hand, however.

This spring, I 1. Cleaned off the small solar panels and 2. Dowsed them with WD-40. I checked them the next day, and they were still working. That was a couple of months ago.

But they are not working now. They will still start spinning with a little assist. But is there something simple I can do to get these things working reliably without replacing the whole thing?

I think they are 5+ years old....with my experience with these "spot solar" type appliances....maybe their time is done?
