Hoping someone here can answer what is probably a simple question, but a normal search is leading nowhere. I recently acquired a VZ 24 mauser. Romanian contract, with SR at the beginning of the ser.#. I'm taking it apart to get the crap out of it. Bluing is gone above the wood line. Receiver is scrubbed. Bolt is mismatched.
But underneath the upper handguard in front of the receiver is "67" deeply stamped into the barrel. Anyone have an idea what this means? TIA.
