Alcohol (rubbing or grain) in MSR bottles?

I know the MSR instructions say that the Whisperlite Universal does not burn alcohol, and I also know that alcohol destroys the paint finish on the MSR fuel bottles. However, I've seen plenty of ways to burn alcohol (rubbing and grain, like everclear) in this stove. My question is, will alcohol eat away the plastic of the MSR pump, the metals of the fuel bottle and fuel line? So for instance, if I'm in a tight spot and my only fuel is everclear, can I keep it in the MSR bottle with the pump, or do I need to clean everything out after using everclear to keep it from degrading?
