I've helped a coworker build two of these now. Completed the second one this afternoon. Both were built on Anderson lowers neither of which had a problem.
Being this was my first experience with a PSA kit, I have to admit I was rather impressed. The upper was put together well and the fit and finish were fine. Assembling the lower took the usual amount of time and with the first one the obligatory launching of springs which luckily we found.
The fit between the upper and lower was excellent. No slop whatsoever and the action worked as it should. Being it was the coworker's first time assembling a kit, I ran him through the usual do's and don'ts, where to lube, cleaning, field stripping, etc.
All that remains is to function fire. The second one is for his dad. Dad saw the pictures of his and immediately wanted one. I suspect he will be assembling two more in the very near future. One for the wife. One for the younger daughter.
I've not fired an AR with a mid-length gas system so will be curious to see how it acts compared to the standard and carbine lengths that I am all too familiar with.
Until we get a chance to go out to the range and function fire, for the present time I'd have to say the PSA kit is a good bargain. Knowing that a former coworker and shooting partner of mine who now lives in VA recently built a 20-inch kit (on and Anderson lower) gave his good reviews for fit, finish and accuracy, I'm confident current coworker will not have an issue.
