For a large portion of my time in the Marine Corps I have worked on computers. Setting up networks, managing computer assets, managing email and messaging, that kind of thing. However, for the last 1.5 years I have been my units Safety Officer. I wasnt sure what to think of it when I started but it actually wasnt bad and I have liked it.
I had previously thought that when i got out that I would go into the data field. However, I have found that I liked the safety field better. Doing inspections, checking gear, educating Marines on how to be safer. There is a large field in the civilian world for it so I am thinking of doing it when I get out. However, I do not have a degree in anything safety wise which is what many jobs require. What I am thinking is doing computer work when I get out and going to college for safety and then move into that field.
With the background information out of the way, onto my question. How would I incorporate my safety work into a resume which is focused on data? Should I leave it blank or use some features from my safety job that could work for data? I am using a timeline resume and it seems to be the best, just not sure what to do with the last 1.5 years.
