Media tends to only cover impacts, rather than norms. Since it is a norm there is not much of a story there. It is more something you'd see VICE cover. However people who keep upon months after events, same goes for Libya for example. People have this impression that after the event everything is wonderful again. Often things drag on and it is no uncommon.
In areas without insurance or a limited contractor supply things don't get fixed very fast.
