In my area the following could be used if owned.

Shield 9mm--kept in a vehicle and/or personal carry, or wolf gun when hiking
M&P 9mm/light--bedside
.22 semi-auto rifle--plinking
.22 semi-auto pistol--plinking
lever action .30-.30--poor man's assault rifle, vehicle carry gun especially in
back country, but also in town or city if danger seen to develop
scoped deer rifle--possible sniper use, harvesting meat
shotgun--slugs, #4, or 00 buck for defense, grizzlies
large magnum handgun--camp gun or hiking in bear country or cowboy action loads for self defense
semi-auto .223/5.56 with 20 and 30-round mags and scope--home use

This use list should cover every problem that might ever occur for me.
