Trust me when I say this, the girls are worse, at least mine were.
What your son is doing isn't entirely too bad, I did the same thing in the 70's.
I put air horns and glass packs on my truck......it's a boy thing
While I will say, he's 18, he's spreading his wings and fighting parental control
My son, was in the gifted and talented program in middle school, very smart. Entering high school, his grades dropped. In fact he had trouble passing some classes.
He could have had scholarships but now his mind was on girls and looking and acting tough, he became very vain also
He moved out after graduation, I started putting him through jr college. He was working and things got tough on him.
He then wanted to move back in, we let him so long as he was going to school, but he wanted us to do everything for him
I then lowered the boom and told him how things were going to be, needless to say he moved back out.
He let his gf move in with him. At that point he started buckling down. He graduated jr college. We them enrolled him into a university to get his mechanical engineering degree like I have.
He graduated magna cum laude.
He's married now and has 1 son, to the same girl BTW, has a great job and now exhibits the way we raised him
Growing up is a bitch especially being 18.
All you can do is teach them the best that you can and hope somewhere along the way, they picked up something
Good Luck!
