This is just so frustrating to,me. Some articles even call,them experienced day hikers ! I'm glad they came out ok but they were totally unprepared for any walk in the woods let alone this area .
Nobody even knew they were missing for 3 days, so much for letting someone know where you'll be and when you'll be back .....
One day pack with some water and cheese, no means to start a fire, no,map and compass, headlamp, extra layers or bivi bag.
For,once I'd like to see a reporter ask , why didn't you start a fire , put on an extra layer and study your map to figure things out ?
