Thoughts on the contents of a "Get home bag"

i posted on another website but wanted the thoughts of some here.

I work about 40miles form my house and wanted to fix up a bag incase i need to walk home for whatever reason.

Work in MD
Live in WV

Two rivers to think about crossing if bridges are out

Cannot have a fixed blade or a pistol (MD laws)

I have a decent backpack that would hold a lot of things including a bladder for water

Ive been told not to bring a small container of fishing tackel since its a small trip.

Things that i can think of
Couple MRE's
multitool
big folding knife
hunk of 550 cord
extra socks
extra insole for boots, sometimes i have feet issues
gloves depending on time of year, but i would probably leave them in the pack all year
small handheld HAM radio for contacting home (if its this bad no one will care about FCC)
some sort of sleeping bag or tent or just sleep outside

40miles i can do it 2 days if i really push but I plan on 3 days at minimum.

Wondering what peoples thoughts are.

Working in MD limits me on somethings for protection which annoys me.
