Storing antibiotics

Recently, I was given two different prescriptions for antibiotics for a tooth abscess. I took one to completion and the other is in my medicine cabinet. I was wondering if I could store the unused prescription for long-term storage.
Does anyone have any ideas if I can do this, and if I can, how would I do it. Thanks.
