couple thousand gallon pond and a pool..desert

So if I had a freshwater pond in Arizona I could use that for cooking/drinking and pool water could be used for bathing.

I'd have to use pool chemicals once the pool guy dies from the emp after effects, to keep pool free of algae etc.

What about keeping pond clean?
