A taco extinction event.

It struck me last night, as I was having tacos for dinner, that any breakdown in the ways things are would mean no more tacos. The horrors! Think about all that you need to have a proper Taco Tuesday celebration.

Light crisp corn tortillas folded just right. You might be able to pull off making them if you have the ingredients and the cooking know how. Beyond my skill level.

The meat filling with the appropriate spices. The meat you might have stored away, obtained by raising animals, or hunting, but some of the spices comes from magical plants grown by elves in the Dark Forrest. The elves would not be there anymore.

Cheese is not impossible to make but you need someone from Wisconsin. Sour cream would require you to have a dairy cow and the ability to perform crude actions upon it.

Lettuce can be grown in your garden, if the slugs and bugs leave it alone, as well as tomatoes, if the conditions are right and you plant in the proper phase of the moon. But how to obtain Avocados if you are not living in Soviet Ca.?

Then there is the all important salsa to think about. While easily stored in preparation for the Tacoapocalypse it is not so easy to make your own without industrial equipment.

Considering all that goes into what seems such a simple and quick dinner now it is unlikely that it would survive a breakdown. Sad to contemplate
