Details: It's a 5 inch blade, half tang, mule antler handle with hammered copper accents for the "hilt" and pommel cap. The steel started with an 8-layer stack of high carbon molybdenum that was drawn and folded 7 times and rough shaped, ground, relaxed, heat treated to about a 58 Rockwell at the edge and drawn back to about 50 at the spine, etched, polished, and sharpened. It's been a while since I've played with forging Damascus... Time to build a new gas forge. Trying to manage heat and impurities for clean pattern-welding on a traditional coal/charcoal forge is a nightmare... Oh, and photographing damascus pattern is difficult, but my camera sucks. So, sorry for the substandard photos.
