Don't get me wrong, I'm not a hoarder or anything crazy like that. I just enjoy getting out and finding deals looking at how something can be repurposed, and staying out of the house when the wife is spending all day watching College Football.
Some things I've found include:
Push drills, sometimes called Yankees. I also keep a keen eye out in boxes of drill bits because that's where the spare Yankee bits end up.
Golf Towels: Great for shop rags when they have the shower curtain hanger and eyelet on them. Just clip it on your belt loop and you always have someplace to wipe your hands.
Wooden Golf Club Drivers and golfballs. I'm a wood carver and the Drivers make great looking ducks once you hand carve a head and put it where the shaft was cut off. Golfballs are solid core inside these days and the material is great for carving caricatures.
Art pens and books: Another hobby I have is drawing caricatures and I'm always on the lookout for art tablets and Sharpies. Even picked up a tri-fold wall thing I can pin some of my drawings onto so people walking by can see what I do.
Construction Books, workshop books: Great for learning to wire a shop or build furniture.
Ideas for my Pickup truck with Canopy: Picked up a battery isolator for $2 still in original packaging, inverters, led lights, 12/v-110v fridge. Heavy wool blankets with designs on them for a couple bucks each.
That's just a list of things I focus on.
