Illegal search and seizure

Wanted to get the groups opinion on something.

My nephew is a senior in high school. Smart kid with a good future.

Starting Monday he and his classmates will be subjected to random checks by LEO using dogs. Heres how it is said to work. The police will randomly pick a few classes to search. The kids will have to exit the class and stand outside while the dog sweeps the room.

My nephew is a good kid and doesnt do drugs. My concern is what if the stoner kid dumps his weed/drug of choice into another kids backpack on the way out of the room? Or any of the other things that could happen.

I understand it is a public school and they can be subjected to a search but it seems unreasonable they shouldnt get to be there while being searched. If a bag is left unattended how can one be responsible for what is found in it later.
