Anyone use a TENS unit for pain?

I have a cheap o TENS unit that I'll use for back pain and other aches every now and then and it works very well. Problem I have is the sticky pads are a 1 time use maybe 2 time at best. A 6 pack of replacement pads cost $13.00

How do you make the old pads sticky again, or is there some kinda adhesive the wound glue the pads permanently in place?
