I have a small inverter 2200 watt generator and a vehicle. The vehicle gets about 25 mpg average with a 20 gallon tank. As it stands I last fueled it March 20th due to the Coronavirus, AND I have about 17 to 18 gallons remaining because I don't drive anywhere.
That said, I am going to the dentist Monday, and they are 130 miles away, so I will use up some gasoline doing 260 miles round trip!

My question is that other than the car I have on hand
3 x 5 gallons, 2 * 2.5 gallons, a 3 gallon boat tank, and 1 gallon in the generator.
Should I start down-sizing how much fuel I store on-hand, so it doesn't go bad? Simply put, I would have the opportunity to dispose of some of it by dumping it into the car after my 260 mile trip coming up. It used to be easy to rotate fuel in that I drove to work everyday before this pandemic.
Now, my car requires 91 octane, which my stored fuel is NOT.. hence, what I like to do is dump 5 gallons into my car when it is half full then when I drive it down to a quarter fill it up with 93 to blend it.
The fuel I have stored is Ethanol-free dated and treated with Stabil 360 at a rate of 1 oz per 5 gallons. That said, the Stabil I put in is somewhat dark, so I am not certain it is good.
What are your thoughts? I just don't want to store a bunch of fuel and have it go bad. My oldest stored fuel is Feb 6th.
The fuel in the car itself I treated with some fresher Stabil 360 performance dumping in 4 oz.
How much fuel would you keep on hand? I am considering downsizing to 10 gallons +1 in the generator.
Will there be a gas shortage when the economy starts up?
