Mask Mandates

Masks are being made a proxy for conflict between ideologies. It's a stupid hill to fight over much less die on. Government mandates requiring masks are BS. They absolutely are. A bandana doesn't do crap except appease power drunk politicians and idiots. I believe this is intentional and too many are taking the bait. It's a distraction from more important issues like governments forcing privately owned businesses to shut down.

It should be up to each business not politicians. Just like it should be up to a cake maker's personal discretion if he doesn't want to make a wedding cake for gays. If people don't like it, they have the option to shop elsewhere.

Some find masks dystopian. They thwart facial recognition which in my opinion is more dystopian. I kind of like having an excuse to wear one if I chose to.

I've been quarantined for a long time now. There's been no need for me to go into public places. If I had to, I'd be wearing a respirator for my own protection not because some jackass politician says I have to.

If I had a retail establishment I'd require them for marketing purposes. To make people feel safe. I'd also be supplying them at the door. They would have "Make America China Virus Free Again" printed on them. Or perhaps just simply "**** china".
