Motorcycle carry gear

So it's coming up on riding season. For some of you in dry areas it's been on for a while. We are still having rainstorms here so I'm a week or so away from riding season.

I got to thinking about this after I recently replaced my battery, went for a fun ride and lost a bolt out of my positive battery terminal. I didn't bring a spare or a 10mm wrench. That and trying to skeletonize my duty bag down to a slim backpack got me thinking about what everyone here is packing with them daily and why.

How does your bike limit you and what options does it afford you? Do any of you know about bags that attach to the seat I have on my Suzuki Intruder 1400?
