I got about 70 MREs at an event not to long ago and have no idea how to read the dates. I know some of them are past there expiration date by what the vendor said but it is my understanding that they last a long time, I have heard of MREs from Vietnam still being edible. What I am asking is how much should I worry about the dates? my plan was to keep them for 10 years before replacing them but I have no idea if that is a good idea or not. as for what type they are I have no idea they look military issue but some brands look identical to the military ones also they are not full MRE bags it is simply the pouches in the boxes I mostly got beef stew and spaghetti and meat sauce just for reference to what I am talking about.
