truck campers

please school me on truck campers. im looking at some raw land in northern new england for a weekend getaway that may or may not get a cottage in the future. in the interim i want to camp out there but not in a tent (did enough sleeping on the ground in the boy scouts and army ages ago).

i dont have a truck. i dont have an rv. im thinking that a truck will be easier driving. i have tried to look online at truck campers but the variety of style and price is mind boggling. i dont like the heavy, overstuffed naugahyde furniture house kitchen cabinets that i see alot. im more of an ikea guy in taste. i want a toilet, sink, microwave and/or burner, small fridge, bed for 2, table set up. no shower. i can afford a truck and camper setup into the $30k range, so im probably looking at used truck and new camper

suggestions for a used truck? toyota or ford or? truck camper makers? sorry for the broad questions, but i cant think of a better place to ask. thanks in advance!
