like many, I grew up appreciating everything, as we didn't have much to speak of.
I saved up my allowance and other change I could find to buy my first bmx bike and managed to break my arm the next day on it.
Point being , after school and homework, I only needed that bike and my slingshot to find adventure, mystery and all else.

IM now 44, just gave my son a brand new scoped 22 rifle. he says its too heavy, before setting it down and walking away, muttering about some new video or whatever.
Nothing of a thanks of any kind

saddening. but I'm also the idiot who gave him a Playstation 4 for the holidays.
Just hard these days. You try to bring them up right, and mostly fail.
