New Guy

Hello everyone

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a married father of three living in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

I've been a salesperson my entire adult life and after some self reflection towards the end of last year I realized I've obtained very few survival skills along the way. The idea of not being able to take care of my family in a SHTF situation scared the crap out of me and so I started on the preparedness path this past February.

So far we've been able to store away several months of food and medical supplies, about a months worth of water, a couple wood stoves and nice supply of wood, etc. My wife and oldest daughter have received firearms training and some self defense training, my middle daughter will begin in January. Most recently we've been camping every 3-4 weeks and I've began working on improving my fishing skills and knowledge.

Although I feel we have come far in a short period of time I still have a lot to learn and do. I'm just trying to surround myself with people that are smarter and more experienced than myself and learn as much as I can from them.
