Get your life back in order before worrying about prep stuff.

I am in the same boat. I spent a long time unemployed and, having a job now, I just went through a period of serious illness. My finances are a mess right now...

You have to set priorities.

Personally, some of the things I have been doing to keep my head in the prep game for free has been harvesting and processing produce from the garden and yard, working on the house, checking and resorting my supplies room, etc.
