Other ways the government can find out who owns guns?

Let me preface this by saying I am a somewhat paranoid person...hah....

So I have a question, I bought a rifle from a private sale last week brand new, the guy never registered it under the warranty for his name, I was not thinking and put my real full name under the warranty, now I am on file somewhere with my full name and address under ownership of this gun which is fine...for now. But lets say something happens in the next 10-20 years, do you think they would go so far as to not just look up who bought the firearm initially(From store with background check) rather use things like warranty registrations or maybe an address where a replacement part was shipped? Yes, I know, I am thinking too much but realistically, would it ever come to that?

Also the fire arm is only under warranty for a year from date of purchase, would my name and info still be available after that 1 year has expired in relation to the fire arm serial #?

Let's block ads! (Why?)
