Trijicon RMR or MRO

I have no experience with red dot sights. It has always been iron sights or scope for me..

This RDS will be for the wife's rifle. (but who knows, it might end up on my SPR some were down the road )
It currently has iron sights.

I thought that it would make a great Christmas present.

I have done internet research on each of these sights, but no one has compared them to each other for my specific situation.

I like the RMR because it is very light, but on the small side.

I like the MRO because of the larger objective lens - as compared to other RDSs.

Any experience with RDSs and new users. Like which one would be easier for her to "learn" and use? Or it really does not matter, an RDS is an RDS ?

Also, she is really into flashlights. She has no idea that weapon mounted lights exist. I was thinking that one of those would really tickle her.

Once again, I have no experience with those either.
Any suggestions ? - not too expensive, maybe $150 or so ?
