Stored properly though, beans will last many years, at least ten. You just may have to soak them in water for a while before cooking them.

My wife likes ramen noodles, so we have a few packed away in Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers. They'll last several years at least (what's to go bad?).

A good addition to the list would be pasta. Packed in Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers, pasta will last almost indefinitely. And considering that you can buy a pound of the stuff (about 1,600 calories) for around $1 at the grocery store and even less from restaurant supply stores, I think it's a great base for a larder.
