I was just thinking about gold and stuff for bartering, then I wondered how pawn shops in Venezuela were doing and what people were trying to trade off and buy, then I found this article from google,,it seems alot of middle-class people are trading off gold/silver to buy food with. It was sad to hear about people selling off things that were gifts and items that had had meaning in their life. One thing that the article said was that the gov there was recommending people stock up on gold but its hard to do that when you are pawning it all off. It didn't say anything about people actually buying anything from the pawn shop. It seems to be all over the world too, pawn shop boom in hard times, and food seems to be what people are wanting to buy. I wonder what the pawn shops do with the gold after they get it?
