Good ammo for an SKS

I plan within the next couple of weeks or so to pick myself up an SKS. Several likely prospects within my price range, just doing some reading & researching to avoid wasting my money. Of course, before you bring the baby home you'd better make sure you've got something in the house to feed it, hence my question. One thing I've come across in a few places is the 'slamfire'. Call me tame & unadventurous but it strikes me as something to be avoided. Where I've encountered it, the writers say that soft primers increase the risk & proper milspec primers are what one needs along with, of course, proper rifle maintenance. The maintenance I can cover, but with the thinning availabilty of true military surplus I need to know if any commercial makers manufacture their ammunition to milspec, i.e. good hard primers.
