Remington 783, a nice economy .308

Sportsman's Guide had a great sale price, and I had a special coupon (most can't be used on firearms) AND there's a $40 rebate.
Assuming that I really get the rebate, I will have just about $265 including transfer so I thought I would give it a try.

It also came with a 3x9 scope that is adequate but will soon be replaced with something a better.

The general, overall quality is excellent IMHO and seems at least as well built as my 700 ADL was. (minus the recall, I hope)

I am not a big fan of the hollow stock but it functioned fine. I like the detachable magazine and plan on picking up a larger (than 4 round) one in the near future. I hear you can improve the stock by shooting "Great Stuff" foam into it.

I haven't gotten it on a long range yet but at 25 yards I can hit a dime consistently.

All and All I would give it an 8 out of 10.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
