Barrel length variances with 7.62x39 ...

I recently saw a 23.5" VEPR and was thinking about the advantages and disadvantages of an AK/RPK-type rifle with that length barrel over the more traditional 16". I'm not a ballistics wonk, so I also did some cursory research and reading up on ballistic variances. Of the tests I saw that were done with AK/RPK-type rifles of differing barrel lengths, the following article (from earlier in 2016) was particularly interesting. I thought the varying barrel lengths would result in greater differences. For what it's worth to fellow x39 shooters and AK guys:
