Self Sufficient Community?

So, I'm new to this forum and fairly inexperienced when it comes to prepping/survival in general, but it has always been something that interested me. Recently, my attention has been more on self-sufficiency than anything else, so I wanted yall's input on a few ideas that have been bouncing around my head. Primarily, I want to know if yall think these ideas are achievable or realistic.

First, all these ideas involve both a community and an established area for the community (like a large piece of land). The goal for this community would be self sufficiency and emergency preparedness. I think it's borderline impossible to be 100 percent self sufficient, but the goal would be to get as close as possible.

Regarding food, there are plenty of options. You could grow vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains, wheat, etc. Obviously the physical environment of the community will affect what can be grown, but there's always greenhouses. You could probably make your own bread and grow your own coffee beans. Additionally, animals could be raised and bred to provide a wide variety of meats such as beef, chicken, sheep, pig, goat, rabbit, pheasant, quail, etc. On top of that, you could use the animals for other food products like eggs and milk. You could even harvest your own honey if you had honeybees. Feeding and taking care of all those animals would require a pretty large piece of land and a decent amount of people, I imagine. And if the goal is to become as close to self sufficient as possible, you would need to grow your own feed for the animals. Growing and harvesting hay, grains, oats, and whatever else would probably increase the amount of people the community would need even more. Horses and dogs could probably help out with a lot of ranch or farm related tasks, but then you need someone in the community who knows how to train them.

Which brings me to my next idea. I think the community would need people with a huge array of skills. To be as self-reliant as possible, it would be good to have members of the community would knowledge in areas like animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, a doctor for humans as well, construction, mechanics, plumbing, electrical, etc. Hell, even people who knew more uncommon skills like smithing or forging, chiropractic, engineering, architecture, CNC/lathe operation, 3D printer operation, and other things of that nature. A nice, industrial grade CNC would run you about $30,000-$35,000 according to the 2 minutes I just spent on Google scrolling through CNC machines for sale. With something like that, you could machine your own replacement parts for damaged machines, create new ones, all kinds of things. With a good 3D printer you could make all kinds of other appliances. I think it would be good to know how to produce biodiesel and ethanol fuel as well. I imagine there'd be some use for a person who knew how to make glass, although they would probably need a furnace for that, however I have no clue how much a furnace costs or even what one looks like. Anyway, I think a wide variety of skills would be good for a community like that. It would be good to have people trained in security related tasks just in case the community fell victim to people trying to steal from or injure the inhabitants or their property, and although I can understand how that might seem a little representative of a Branch Davidians situations, I think the goal as a community would be to not do any crazy stuff like that.

I don't think getting electricity would be a problem. Solar panels are an option, wind turbines, water wheels if running water is available, or generators. Owning a biodiesel generator and knowing how to make biodiesel would be clever. Ethanol could serve some purposes too.

I think it would be nice to live in a community that was close enough to a populated area so that its members could still be part of the rest of the world instead of being restricted to an isolated group of people, but far enough away from cities and towns that it felt comfortable. It would be nice to still live within 2 hours of a decent sized city so that the members of the community wouldn't be completely restricted to their own services. That way if you preferred a different doctor than the community's, you could just drive to the nearest doctor. Or if even though you had plenty of food and were fully self reliant in that area, if you really wanted to you could still drive out to Wendy's or In N Out or whatever other fast food people who aren't from Texas eat. We like Whataburger. Texas is also the 9th most obese state in the nation according to another Google search. Now, correlation does not mean causation, but I find it awfully suspicious. Regardless, I cherish Whataburger.

Anyway, is this achievable, realistically? I have little experience with homesteading or gardening or large animal care, etc. so I don't know exactly how much work or money is required to do these things. What do yall think the entire cost would be? And approximately how many people would it take? And where the hell would you find these people? I've literally never met a person who knows how to make biodiesel. I didn't even know that was a thing until earlier this year. And how would you convince these people to leave their lives behind to go live on a self sufficient community? I'm certain this would take longer than a decade to even get halfway done, but how long would it take in total? I'm sure there's laws or restrictions regarding plenty of the things I listed, but in which states? What certifications would be needed to do all these things legally? Where would this community need to be located in order to do it legally and efficiently? I imagine land is cheap in places like dry desert and frozen wilderness like in Alaska, but you probably wouldn’t be able to grow much or raise as many types of animals. Anyway, if anyone has any information or ideas of their own or thoughts to share, I'd be interested to hear it.
