I have made several threads in the past about guns in NYC, in which I got some very good advice from the people on these boards. I then began seriously looking into it and found that a license to own a gun in NYC would cost an exorbitant amount of money, and an enormous amount of time, and once earned, could easily be revoked for no apparent reason. And this is just to own, forget about carry. Additionaly, as I am only 19, I can't even begin applying for this.
However, Trump may change the game. I don't recall when, but he did mention how ridiculoud NYC gun laws are, and I can hope he changes them. That would be the biggest impact his presidency could have on my life. I can imagine a future where there plentiful are gun stores and ranges in NY, and magazines of 30 rounds and above, with semi automatics galore!
That said, how would Trump be able to go about this? Can a president use an executive order to force a state, or municipality to change their laws? Could NY ignore any forced federal national reciprocity with regards to CCL?
Thanks to those who respond
PS To those who say I should just move, I KNOW. I know it would be easier to leave, but I want to stay, my family is here, and as an undergraduate student with a very competitive scholarship, I really can't leave. So please don't respond if all you have to say is move.
