The Savage has a synthetic stock, which while I'm not a big fan of, it does segue in nicely with it being stainless --- so inclement weather exposure while hunting is not an issue.
The Remington is a piece of functional artwork, with it's beautifully polished, white-lined & checkered stock.
It just screams to me what a hunting rifle should look & feel like.
Anyone on here have any personal experience with either, or both, where they might be able to offer some suggestions as to which might be the superior rifle?
Tough choice: new Savage Axis XP or veteran Rem. 700 BDL?
