Trump should start his own "fireside chats"

I realize that FDR was a liberal hack, but I definitely think he had the right idea with his "fireside chat" radio transmissions during the Great Depression. Personally, I would love to see Trump start doing something like that.

He is billing himself as a man of the people, someone who can reach out and connect with the working man/woman in rural America, and the 9-5 suits. The rich, and the poor.

If he truly wishes to be seen as a man of the people, working for the people, what better way to drive that message home than to literally sit down and talk with us?

I realize that the life and agenda of the President of these United States is hectic, but what a message it would send if he carved out a couple hours every other week or so, to have a discussion one on one with the American people! No press secretaries, no interview questions, no teleprompters. Just our President, raw and uncut.

It would be so easy to set up a function on the President's website where people can submit questions, or topics for discussion. He could select a few to discuss during these chats, or even just talk about his own things. I don't care.

I think this would do wonders for his public perception, as well as his ability to lead in the best way possible.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
