South East SD fall fishing, any good?

Hey there, displaced SD person here, just looking for fishing info. I'm from Sioux Falls but unfortunately live in the hell-hole that is Denver. I got back from a week out there in early July and it just wasn't enough.

I'm thinking of taking another trip out in September to do some more fishing as i had bought an annual license. Thing is, i haven't been there in the autumn in forever and was wondering if the fishing is any good around then? i'm not species specific, i go for all; crappie (favorite), bass, blue gill, catfish, walleye & pike. I know that turn-over starts about then, but i cant remember how the fishing is during then.

Ill be fishing out of a kayak and within about 20 - 30 miles from Sioux Falls. When i get out there i fish Lake Alvin, Lake Lakota, Sioux River, Family Fun Park (12th St west side), skunk creek & yankton lake & the river. Can try lake madison, lake vermillion, wall lake, and others. I love Oakwood S.P. but i know its shallow & frequently suffers winter kill. I used to go there alot when i went to SDSU back in the early 90's.

Any info you have would be greatly appreciated!
