Why are you specifying coyotes as a food source? As predators and scavengers they have to be cooked VERY thoroughly, and unless the ecosystem is way out of whack will be far less numerous than other prey species. They're also extremely wary, making them very difficult to hunt. There's a YouTube channel channel called "O'Neill Ops" that's all coyote hunting. It's not my 1st, 2nd, or 15th preferred method of procuring wild protein. I'd relegate coyotes to targets of opportunity.

Also, I would also prefer to trap food if possible.
