Browsers and secrecy

I think every browser has an option to let you synchronize your bookmarks, viewing history, etc with all of your electronic devices. I think they do that by hosting your information on a server To me that sounds like a no-no for opsec in the digital world. The way around that is to run the browser from a thumb drive, carry it around with you and plug it in to the device you want to use. This will work for windows (I think must be all windows devices) or Linux (again, I think it must be all Linux devices. An easier way to do this is to use your phone as a thumb drive - all you need then is a cable. I don't know of a workaround yet for android. Any ideas?
