End times beginning?

As I study the Bible as to end times prophesy, I can see that the United States is not a prominent player during the 7 years of tribulation. Some would disagree on that, but for this thread that is my position and I can back it up with Scripture.

Before Trump was elected and when everyone including me thought HRC was going to be the next president, I thought that the situation was getting so bad that the end times were closer that ever before. Now I know the world situation has been a lot worse in the past with plagues, world wars and such, but there is no record since the Noahic Flood concerning the widespread LGBT, same sex marriage, world wide****tion, drugs, just plain old immorality and so on until the last century. But could the pre flood times have been worse than now? Scripture says that

Things are more prolific due to world wide travel, computers, radio, TV, smart phones and other modern devices.

With HRC as president, I thought the situation within the US would spiral down quickly as to freedom of religion (ie Christianity) and other freedoms enjoyed due to the US Constitution. And that world wide we would be in a situation similar to pre flood times. I thought that the US under HRC would lose prominence in the world and other nations would rise to the occasion, ie Russia, China, and countries in western Europe. I know this would take some time but it would happen.

But then Trump was elected and he began to roll back regulation, improve the economy, reduce unemployment, appoint conservative judges including 2 supreme court judges and all the other things he did, and I began to wonder about the end times being close. With 4 more years of Trump I envisioned more conservative judges including a conservative super majority on SCOTUS, more economic progress, the US becoming the great leader of the world again and so on and on.

But not so fast. Then came COVID 19 and now the race riots. In just a few months all the progress has been stopped and even negated in some sense. Now I see that no matter how good it seems the situation is, it can spiral out of our control in a short time.

To quote the title of Hal Lindsey's book, Satan Is Alive And Well On Planet Earth. God is in control but because of Mankind's sin, allows Satan, the Prince of the Power of the Air and the God of this world, to work. But the end times are coming and may be closer than we think.
