freezing store bought canned goods?

Was looking at a deep freezer, and this odd thought popped in my head. Now I can't stop thinking about it.
I've forgot and left drinks/beer in a freezer,sometimes they explode,sometimes not.Plastic bottle water never a problem.

What about food?

Canned corn,spam,spaghetti-o's,etc..?

Just guessing, but even if the seal/can gets comprimised, the food is still good.

When thawed out, some of the texture may be different, like a beef stew, but still safe.

I can think of 2 reasons to do this.

1)before an expected power outage(hurricane),they say to fill the freezer full.

2)car camping, fill the cooler with cold items, add the cans to keep cold, then eat later.

Just a stupid thought that I can't get rid of.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
