What happened to police officers ???

Right off I want to say I am not trying to dog out the Police,just want to see if my expeareancs are same,and the changes through the years.
I grew up early 70's and I was a onery little turd,I'm not a big guy however I grew up on farm doing a grown mans work starting at 9-10 years old so I was /am way stouter then you would ever guess,Ive also always carried some extra weight not fat but always had little belly so lot of folks through years have made a mistake and thought I was a chubby wimp I was quite the scrapper way stoughter and quicker then folks that didn't know me could believe,never started anything but dang sure finished a few,drank more then my share before I hit 18,had a 66 ford F150 with a 72 429 cobra jet with 3 speed and over drive in it,this was around 76-77 when the Smokey and Bandet Black trans ams was popular,The old rusted out pickup and the trans ams topped out around 130mph,thing was I still had OD and walked away
I wrote that because I wasn't a bad kid but I was far from a good kid,i was dang onery.
The thing is I had quite a bit of expeareance with the cops,from speeding,fighting,drinking,I did not like cops in general but I damn sure respected them,and truthfully I could easly have a pretty long record,I don't have anything on my record except a few speeding tickets.
I don't know how many times coppers told me to break it up fighting,or you are drunk park that pickup right now and pour your beer out (damn that pist me off LOL but I did it)been pulled over several doing way over 100mph,and being respectfull they was all dropped to 5-10mph over speed limet..
Starting around 1990 cops changed, I was living in town I'd get home around 0030 every night and at least 3 times a week the same cop would pull me over for driving down ally to pull in my back yard,drove same vehicle every day got home about same time every night,it was a power trip thing.
My best friend through HS we was each others best man,last time I talked to him was around 90 he was bragging about beating crap out of and arresting kids for doing exactly same stupid crap we did,I asked him why he's ruining kids lives for doing exact same crap we did,his answer was its different now,my response was no you are different,I havnt talked to or seen him since.
1980 Oceanside California 3 of us 1/2 drunk out walking around 2 of us new boots,the other guy was basically a **** bird but we was new,the old **** bird started trouble with a few dark green fellas,me being a stupid hick I told them you boys cant whip me by myself you better go get more!! Big mistake they got more caught us in a ally 9 of the gentleman to 3 of us,the guy starting everything got hit once and craweled under a car,the other guy ran out of ally to find help,me being a dumb ass hick that had never been whipped stood my ground when I woke up I was face down on cop car trying to fight. This day and age I'd of been arrested for resisting arrest,however once they sorted it out (probably took 3 or 4 minutes maximum I was unhandcuffed and medivacked to camp Hospital.The good thing is 3 of the other gentleman was on the ground with me I did ok
The thing is the Cops took the time every time to figure out what was going on,didnt throw there weight around and yell and scream,they asked few questions used comen sense and sorted it out.
Probably been 20 plus years since I've had speeding ticket or did anything illeagle but have been pulled over for BS reasons and have been yelled and screamed at for just asking why I was pulled over,got to do drunk test and threatened to be tazzed for nothing more then being on highway at odd hours,I work odd hours that is no reason to be hasseled.
I'd love to go back 30 years when I trusted and respected all cops.
I'm not trying to dog out cops,I've had some very good expeareances and there is some damn good police officers,problem is to many snot nosed punks with a badge and a gun.
Im not trying to be anti cop,truthfully been 3 weeks since I had day off and I've put away few more beers then I should however the change in Police is very obvious and I don't think its a good thing..
The I was afraid is BS,any vet and there is a lot of us couldn't use that excuse in a combat zone..So why is that a get out of jail free card for Police??
