What's it like to prep on the PNW coast and do you like it?

Like anywhere in these areas. https://www.google.com/maps/@47.1760....4000126,8.16z

Does Oregon/Washington coast even have much of a difference in terms of being a prepper? Obviously WA coast is a tad bit cooler in the winter with more chances of snow which virtually vanish south of Newport Oregon!

What are the advantages and disadvantages? Any ideas and even better anyone who knows that has some land? Do you ever worry about Portland coming after you or do you think the coast is too far away and would be one of the last places they go to if they even get this far?

One would think the 'gloomy' WA summers be an advantage without the heat bearing upon you and despite all the rain if your well prepared for it you don't have to deal with temps below 25F very often except under an Artic outbreak which tend to be VERY clear when it does happen! Often the best blue skies of the winter!!

I bet crabbing is pretty good and lots of trees to provide cover against infrared devices. Once you go a few miles in your in deep wood territory where as eastern Oregon you don't have much cover except sage bushes to 'hide' you.

The coast you have towns you can go to for supplies then go back to wherever it is your from in the deep wood territory and the coast won't be as guarded as Portland I'd think. It doesn't have much police as it is so you already have to have a sense of awareness.

I bet with careful planning you could lead the UN 'Peacekeepers' one hell of a ride thru those back roads assuming they are that interested in you to begin with and not on the bottom of their bucket list where they may come to 50 years from now if a 'hot tip' opens the case back up or not at all.

Which is more dangerous in the country? WA or OR as Oregon you only have Portland to deal with if things get bad and they'll likely go to Astoria (assuming they can walk that far being fat and all.

Oregon doesn't have as much mountains as WA does but WA provides a LOT of cover with trees again and lots of back areas where as Eastern Oregon if they do invade your screwed due to lack of cover. Once they find you out your done but on the coast you have deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep territory to hide in and you can come sneak into coastal towns for supplies then sneak back out.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
