M3 vs M7 pistol holster for woods carry

Hey everyone. I've been looking for a long time to try and find the right woods holster for me. I have narrowed it down to either the M3 or M7 pistol holster. I know they are very similar but the M7 has a chest strap. Has anyone used both? I believe the M7 chest strap is removable. . .correct? Would it be better to get that in order to have an option, or just go with the M3 for more comfort? I could foresee myself using the chest strap in some situations, but not in others (like hiking in summer). Let me know what you all think. Thanks.
