Rough 24 hours.

So my wife and I bought our dream property a couple months ago. The previous owner rigged so many things on this property that it's not funny. Unfortunately we are finding a lot of them the hard way.

The brand new heat/AC unit went out because he sodered the lines instead of brazing them $600

The well pump just went out yesterday just as company arrived $460

Our homeowners insurance just dropped us because of our wood stove "not professionally installed" screw Liberty Mutual by the way this property passed the VA inspection process.

Sheesh.. I love this place but DAMN! it wouldn't be so bad if our old place would sell.

On another note we acquired a chicken tractor, 3 laying hens, and over a months worth of food for $50.

We had a momma cat show up yesterday and drop a litter of kittens this morning but she apparently abandoned them and I'm a softie but we can't afford to spend the time bottle feeding 5 newborn kittens with a 6 month old human baby and 3 rescue dogs. Hopefully she comes back tonight.

On another note, the tractor is working out great.

My buddy who is in the safe business just dropped off an old turn-of-the century bank safe for me to shoot at and he found a line on all of the old school bus tires I could want in order to build a kick-ass berm.

That's my homesteading updates so far.
