A million years ago aleins needed gold, silver for electrical components. They also needed diamonds for their industrial cutting operations. The came down from the heavens in thier firery chariots and told us humans that we must pay them tribute of gold silver and diamonds. Humans, not understanding there technology worshiped them as gods. After most of the gold and resources dried up they left. Humans then made a religion around it in the hopes that they will one day return. That's why gold and silver is important, it is one of the best conductors know to man. Or so I have heard.
Why would silver/gold be valuable in shtf?
